Code of Conduct
Last updated: 17 September 2026
YEAH Association works to build a space that is safe, respectful, and open to every young entrepreneur — whether you're a Member, a Participant, a Mentor, someone who reviews applications, or a staff member. This Code of Conduct describes the behavior we expect from everyone who interacts through YEAH's platform and at our events, and what happens when it is not followed.
1. Purpose
We believe young entrepreneurs learn and grow best in an environment that is safe from harassment and discrimination. This Code exists to protect everyone in the YEAH community — especially Participants, who are in the middle of learning and developing themselves — and to give Mentors, application reviewers, and staff a clear understanding of their own responsibilities.
2. Scope
This Code applies across every space where the YEAH community interacts: this online platform (for example, submitting applications, giving feedback on Checkpoints and Goals, and in-system messaging), program chat groups on Line, Discord, or any other channel YEAH sets up, and every in-person YEAH event or session. It applies to everyone taking part, regardless of role — Member, Participant, Mentor, YEAH Reviewer, Program Admin, or Certificate Admin.
3. Expected behavior
- Treat others with respect, listen to differing views, and communicate courteously — in text, voice, and in person.
- Mentors give feedback that is constructive and specific, grounded in Growth Evidence and the Goals a participant has agreed to — not personal opinions unrelated to that participant's development.
- Be truthful at every step, from applications through Growth Evidence to the work you submit toward a Certificate. Do not present someone else's work as your own, and do not misrepresent facts to get accepted or approved.
- Credit the people whose ideas or work you build on when collaborating as a team.
- Disclose any conflict of interest you have with someone else in a review or scoring process.
4. Responsibilities of Mentors and Reviewers
Mentors and YEAH Reviewers hold evaluative power that directly affects Participants — approving a Checkpoint, giving feedback on a Goal, reviewing an application, or approving a Certificate. That power exists only to support a participant's growth.
- Never use evaluative power to pressure, harass, or disadvantage a participant in any way — including threatening a lower evaluation or withholding a Certificate to demand anything unrelated to the program's development goals.
- Never pursue a romantic or otherwise inappropriate personal relationship with a participant you are responsible for evaluating or supervising. If you have a personal relationship or conflict of interest with a participant, notify your Program Admin immediately and step back from evaluating them.
- Feedback must address behavior and work, never a participant's identity, appearance, gender, or personal background.
- When conduct by a Mentor or Reviewer is reported, we weigh the impact on the person affected above the intent the reported person claims they had. Saying "I didn't mean it that way" does not make conduct with a harmful impact acceptable.
5. Unacceptable behavior
- Harassment in any form, including sexual harassment, hateful language, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Discrimination against anyone on the basis of gender, age, religion, ethnicity, disability, economic status, educational background, or anything else unrelated to ability.
- Sharing or forwarding someone else's personal data (such as phone number, address, or photos) without their consent (see our Privacy Policy).
- Submitting false information in an application, Growth Evidence, or Certificate materials, including falsifying or claiming someone else's work as your own.
- Misusing power as a Mentor, YEAH Reviewer, Program Admin, or Certificate Admin, as described in Section 4.
- Deliberately disrupting or spoiling the learning environment for others, whether in a session, an event, or a chat group.
6. Reporting a concern
If you witness or are affected by behavior that breaches this Code, please report it toadmin@yeah.or.thwith as much detail as you can — date, time, where or through what channel it happened, and who was involved. You may report a concern even when the person involved is a Mentor, YEAH Reviewer, Program Admin, or Certificate Admin; that person will play no part in handling a report concerning themselves.
Once a report reaches us, the YEAH team will look into the facts with those involved and take appropriate action within a reasonable time. We keep the reporter's identity and the details of a report confidential, sharing them only with people who need to know in order to act. In some cases we may need to disclose information as required by law.
7. Enforcement
YEAH reserves the right to decide the appropriate response to each case, based on its severity and impact. This may include:
- A verbal or written warning.
- Guidance or additional conditions placed on continued participation.
- Suspension or removal of Mentor, YEAH Reviewer, Program Admin, or Certificate Admin privileges.
- Suspension or removal from a program, including revoking eligibility for a Certificate not yet issued.
- Suspension or closure of a YEAH Member account.
Every decision is made at YEAH's discretion.
